Fresh Faces: Dakoda Armstrong Wants to Pick up the Pace

By Joseph Wolkin It has been over a year since Dakoda Armstrong signed with Richard Petty Motorsports to pilot the No. 43 Ford in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. Since then, he has struggling with an organization that is trying to move away from an alliance with Roush Fenway Racing in order to do things on its own. However, even with some struggles, Armstrong, 23, is optimistic about the future. Having a close relationship with his sponsor, he believes there is a long-term future for him in NASCAR. What is it like to race the famous No. 43 for Richard Petty? “It is…

Carrying on Tradition: Dillon’s Career Is on the Fast Track

By Ben White Austin Dillon, the grandson of six-time Sprint Cup Series championship team owner and former driver Richard Childress, is building his own driving career in NASCAR’s premier division as well as in a majority of the NASCAR XFINITY Series races. The Lewisville, N.C. native began his driving career in Bandaleros and Legends cars in 2005 before advancing to dirt Late Models in 2006.  He won three major Dirt Late Model events the following season and was also successful in asphalt Late Model cars. Performance Matters Most for Danica in 2015

By Jared Turner The recent announcement that GoDaddy won’t return as Danica Patrick’s primary sponsor next season is a blow for the driver, her Stewart-Haas Racing team and NASCAR as a whole. Despite her relative lack of on-track success, Patrick is one of the sport’s most popular and marketable drivers. A veteran of Super Bowl ads who has appeared multiple times in Sports Illustrated’s Swimsuit Issue, Patrick has appeal that goes far beyond the sport. 5 Lessons Learned: Hendrick Boys Stick Together Again

By Jared Turner The Earnhardt Legacy Lives At Talladega An unusually emotional Dale Earnhardt Jr. opened up in Victory Lane about how much winning at Talladega meant to him. This was Junior’s sixth win but first since 2004 at the venerable 2.66-mile track where his legendary father won 10 times before his death in February 2001. “I love when we go to Victory Lane because I feel like I add to his legacy there. All I ever want to do is make him proud,” said Junior, whose win came just a few days after what would have been his dad’s 64th birthday.…

I’m Just Saying: Junior Still Not a Chase Favorite

By Jared Turner While all of Junior Nation has a renewed sense of optimism about the 2015 season after watching Dale Earnhardt Jr. win Sunday’s race at Talladega Superspeedway, fans of NASCAR’s most popular driver should not get ahead of themselves and declare their man the 2015 Sprint Cup championship favorite. Earnhardt’s win at Talladega, while impressive and certainly great for the sport, means nothing about where he stacks up relative to the competition. Oh, sure, Sunday’s victory solidifies his place in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup, but it’s going to take a lot more than a strong restrictor-plate package…
