Just Sayin’: Post-Bristol Antics Prove Kyle Busch Needs to Grow Up

1

After being one of the fastest drivers at Bristol for Sunday’s rain-delayed race, Kyle Busch finished behind the wall with a torn-up race car. Busch, who led a race-high 256 of 500 laps, came home 39th out of 40 drivers due to a parts failure that sent his No. 18 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota for a spin around Lap 350. But instead of accepting the blame and moving on, Busch took the opportunity to criticize another driver – Justin Allgaier – and that driver’s spotter. Allgaier’s car clipped the nose of Busch’s car, resulting in major damage to both machines, while Busch sat idle on the track after spinning. Clearly upset, Busch later called Allgaier and Allgaier’s spotter “the biggest moron out there.” There’s just one problem with Busch’s claim, however: He has no one to blame but himself for this one. Did Allgaier deliberately slam into him? Of course not. After all, what did Allgaier have to gain from it? The short answer: Absolutely nothing. Any remotely reasonable person knows the contact was merely a chain reaction – something we see practically every race at some point. Maybe instead of pointing fingers, the reigning Sprint Cup Series champion should just admit he messed up this time. That’s what real champions do.
