There’s a reason Jimmie Johnson is NASCAR’s all-time wins leader at Dover, with 11 victories. He’s simply darn good at the Monster Mile.
If there’s one driver who seems equipped to challenge Jimmie Johnson’s Dover supremacy, it’s Martin Truex Jr. — this season’s top overall performer and last fall’s winner at the 1-mile Delaware oval.
Matt Kenseth owns three wins at Dover, the most recent coming in the spring of 2016.
Kyle Larson has yet to win at Dover, but the Chip Ganassi Racing driver led a race-high 241 laps here in June. A win on Sunday would be just the latest success in Larson’s stellar season.
No doubt feeling extra confident after a big win last weekend at New Hampshire, Kyle Busch brings a history of strong performances at NASCAR’s two concrete tracks — Dover and Bristol.
