I’m Just Saying: Earnhardt Jr.’s Girlfriend Should Relax

Amy Reimann, the girlfriend of Dale Earnhardt Jr., posted two tweets to her personal Twitter account on Friday afternoon expressing her displeasure about someone – presumably a fan – giving NASCAR’s most popular driver the ol’ bunny ears during a photo opportunity at Texas Motor Speedway. Reimann, Junior’s partner of more than three years, used the hash tag “rude” to describe the prank, and tweeted, “If you get the pleasure to take a photo with a celebrity, don’t give em the bunny ears.” In a second tweet, she added that there is a “time and place” for such a practical joke. While many fans on Twitter were quick to agree with Reimann, others criticized her for calling her boyfriend “a celebrity” and lacking a sense of humor. Ultimately, Reimann should probably choose her words more carefully. In a world full of crime, poverty and all manner of daily tragedies, she must guard against being perceived as overly sensitive and out of touch with the untold numbers of everyday blue-collar fans who constitute a large chunk of Junior Nation.

During an exclusive interview with FOX Sports analyst and three-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion Darrell Waltrip that aired just prior to the race at Texas, Danica Patrick admitted that she would say, “Yes,” if boyfriend Ricky Stenhouse Jr. asked for her hand in marriage. The two Sprint Cup Series drivers have dated for more than two years, and Danica has even expressed an interest in having a child by her boyfriend, a two-time XFINITY Series champion for Roush Fenway Racing. Now with the ball firmly in Ricky’s court on a potential engagement, will he pop the question anytime soon? If he truly wants to spend the rest of his life with Danica, why not? This is a story definitely worth following, so stay tuned.
