Nationwide | Ryan Blaney captures first career victory

By Chris Knight, Special to the NASCAR Wire Service It wasn't a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series competitor that the NASCAR Nationwide Series field had to worry about at Kentucky Speedway. Instead, it was a NASCAR Camping World Truck Series standout in Ryan Blaney who stole the show and won Saturday night's Kentucky 300. Blaney's first career Nationwide Series win came in his 15th career start and just second start of 2013. Blaney's triumph in the No. 22 Discount Tire Ford Mustang marked Penske Racing's 10th win of the year with the No. 22 with four different drivers. A.J. Allmendinger, Joey Logano and Brad…

Nationwide | Late pass gives Keselowski win in 1,000th Nationwide race

By Reid Spencer NASCAR Wire Service   RICHMOND, Va.--You can call Brad Keselowski the heartbreaker. Unlike the antagonist in the Rolling Stones’ hit song by that name, Keselowski broke Brian Scott’s heart with a 22--his No. 22 Ford Mustang, to be precise. Grabbing the lead for the first time after a restart on Lap 240, Keselowski subsequently survived a seventh caution and a final restart to beat Scott, the pole winner, to the finish line by 1.946 seconds in Friday night’s Virginia 529 College Savings 250, the 1,000th race in…

Harvick beat Busch to the finish line by .579 seconds after clearing his rival’s No. 54 Toyota with five laps…

Kyle Busch wins at Bristol for 60th Nationwide victory

Aug. 23, 2013 By Reid Spencer, NASCAR Wire Service   BRISTOL, Tenn.—Friday night's Food City 250 wasn't exactly a battle royal, as far as the outcome was concerned. Heck, it wasn't even a food fight. In fact, when Kyle Busch wins the Coors Light Pole for a NASCAR Nationwide Series race, as he did Friday afternoon at Bristol Motor Speedway, the rest of the field might as well start writing concession speeches. Pulling away from runner-up Brad Keselowski over a green-flag run that consumed the final 72 laps, Busch won his sixth NNS event at the .533-mile short track. The victory was his…

Nationwide | Allmendinger cruises to win at Mid-Ohio

By Scott Held Special to NASCAR Wire Service LEXINGTON, Ohio -- AJ Allmendinger wondered if he had enough fuel after a few extra laps were added to Saturday's NASCAR Nationwide Series stop at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, but why worry? His No. 22 Ford Mustang probably could've survived that, too. He spent most of Saturday afternoon in front, then held on for an extra few laps to earn his second career NASCAR Nationwide victory in the Nationwide Children's Hospital 200, the series' first-ever race here. Allmendinger had…
